Account Agreement (subject to change)

1. THE CARD: You must present your own HawkCard in order to purchase products or services. The HawkCard can be used at all participating locations on and off campus. The HawkCard is the property of the University of Hartford and is non-transferable. The HawkCard may be deactivated and retained by a University of Hartford official when presented by any Cardholder making inappropriate or illegal use of it. Misuse, alteration or destruction of the HawkCard may result in disciplinary action. Restitution is required for overdrafts on any account resulting from off-line transactions. No interest or other earnings will be paid to the Cardholder or credited by The University of Hartford.

2. HawkCash: Enables you to use your HawkCard at all participating debit locations on and off campus. Dollars on this account are deposited at your discretion. Once the account is opened, any balance on the account will carry over from semester to semester as long as you are affiliated with The University of Hartford. HawkCash is non-refundable. The University of Hartford reserves the right to close any account that is inactive for an academic year. No funds may be transferred from HawkCash to the Required Meal Plan or vice versa.

3. REQUIRED MEAL PLAN: All resident students are required to purchase at least the Minimum Meal Plan each semester. Each meal plan is based upon a point system utilizing the University's ID card. Unused meal plan points in a student's declining balance account at the end of each semester are non-refundable and will not be carried over to the next semester.

4. RECEIPTS AND STATEMENTS: Most point-of-sale terminals are equipped to provide a receipt for each transaction. It is your responsibility to ensure that the receipt is correct. An account statement listing recent transactions will be generated upon your personal request at the HawkCard ID Office or online at www.HawkCard.com.

5. LOST, STOLEN OR DAMAGED CARDS: You agree to immediately report a lost or stolen HawkCard to the HawkCard ID Office over the phone at 768-5343, or in person at the HawkCard ID Office Monday - Thursday 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Friday 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. When the HawkCard ID Office is closed you may go to the Public Safety office after hours or to any location manager of ARAMARK Campus Services during normal operating hours where a manager will report your card as lost or stolen. Cardholder is responsible for any loss due to lost or stolen cards. You must come to the HawkCard ID Office during business hours to obtain a new HawkCard. We will charge the current fee of $15 for replacing lost, stolen or damaged cards.
